EPA Refuses to Protect the Environment
March 5th, 2008Despite the EPA being ordered by the Supreme Court nearly a year ago to determine whether carbon dioxide poses a danger to public health, which would require them to enforce the Clean Air Act, EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson tells Congress they haven’t taken any action on the directive and don’t have any plans to do so (HT Veracifier):
Looks like it’s time to stop teaching Checks and Balances in American Social Studies since the Bush Administration has demonstrated that Congress and the Supreme Court have absolutely no power to oversee the Executive branch.

Well, Johnson is doing his part for the environment every bit as much as John McCain who received a score from the League of Conservation Voters equal to the number of EPA employees working on climate change … zero.
Yes. Our system of checks and balances is working beautifully. ExxonMobil writes checks and senior government officials have higher balances.
What I really loved though was not only that this guy refused to do his job despite a supreme court order but that he won’t even let California do his job for him. Do we have a great system in place or what?
