American Natural History Museum: New York City Birds
The atomic physicist Ernest Rutherford famously said that, “All science is either physics or stamp collecting.” A glimpse at this cold, sterile hallway, which connects more dynamic museum displays, really lends strong argument for Rutherford view.

It pains me to disagree with Rutherford.
All sciences start with observation and classification, and as soon as you know better, as soon as you have laws, models, timelines, trends, theories and everything that makes science fun, the past classification seems a bit dull. We got from these miserable birds to Darwin and to climate change.
