		<description>Over 35 mph may have been inefficient back then, but I remember reading a chart (possibly on this blog) that showed with most modern cars, the ideal speed to get the best gas mileage is about 55 to 60 mph.

A quick search for that chart turned up a blank, but I did find this speed vs. MPG chart for the Prius:

Looks like the ideal speed for a Prius to get the best mileage is about 25 to 40 mph.</description>
