Sanyo Solar Ark

Sanyo Solar Ark

  • Check out Sanyo’s Solar Ark, a 1,033-foot-wide solar-powered museum in central Japan (above is a panoramic view.)
  • A 12-pound rhesus monkey in North Carolina made a 200-pound robot in Japan walk using her brain. I’ve started stockpiling shotgun shells in anticipation of the impending invasion.
  • 19 Bald Eagles have died and 50 more had to be rescued from gorging themselves on fish guts left in a truck outside a processing plant. They became covered in freezing slime, and the effort to save them could only be described as valiant.
  • Ira Flatow, who wouldn’t add me to his Facebook, interviews Michael Pollan author of the NYT article I can’t stop mentioning, summarized as Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants., about Pollan’s new book In Defense of Food, An Eater’s Manifesto, where he argues against the tradition of Nutritionalism.
  • Science Sensei, who shares my martial arts motif, but who also probably knows something about science, has a great video on Subliminal Political Messages:

    1. yea i’ve always thought 1 frame at 30fps was so inredibly easy to notice that i’d notice 1 frame at 60fps, but i’ve never been in a situation to verify that! :)
