In the Nature VS Nurture debate, nature was dealt a devistating blow this week as it was revealed that Barack Obama and Dick Cheney are Distant Cousins. Nurture has yet to respond to requests to speculate on the divergent developmental environments that produced the politicians Barack “Audacity of Hope” Obama and Dick “#$%& You!” Cheney.
This month’s Seed has a great article on Australia, which is the worst CO2 emitter per capita, and how it’s population is starting to take action, kicking things off with an hour of darkness in Sydney. It’s a great bit of coverage, but since Seed didn’t post it online, I’ll link to AlterNet instead, and their article Australia: Global Warming’s Canary in the Coal Mine, which hits all the same points. Consequences of global warming? Cities in the Southeast may Run Out of Water in a few Months thanks to the worst drought in more than a century. God is obviously punishing the Red States.
While the Media are focused on a British Judge’s ruling that An Inconvenient Truth had Nine “Errors” (which weren’t really errors), they are completely ignoring that the Judge also concluded the film is “substantially founded upon scientific research and fact.” Curse you liberal media!!!
So #$%& the mainstream media. Today was Blog Action Day, where all bloggers are called upon to blog on a single topic. This year’s topic? Environmentalism.
